Since this is the last I will bid you all a happy rest of the year and good luck with everything!

The other day though she informed me that she isn’t going to be coming back next semester.  I don’t know whether or not to be happy, or sad about it… I don’t really know her all that well, though we have shared a room for 5 months (give or take some).  If I get the room to myself that would obviously be excellent, but then again I don’t know whether or not I would really enjoy being totally by myself everyday and every night for an entire semester.

We’ll see what happens!

We joust bareback.  Jump horses at midnight.  Jump OVER each other at midnight.  Jump OVER each other at midnight bareback.  Go galloping around like maniacs without helmets on… at midnight.  And to continue the tradition and all that jazz we have come up with a new plan for this winter.  The ingredients?

One person on horseback.

One rope.

One person on a snowboard holding one end of said rope. (The other the rider has tied onto something or is holding on real real tight… we haven’t worked the kinks out yet)

And one person with a video camera and 911 on speed-dial.

Can I just say that I am very excited for our latest “let’s get ourselves killed” plan and will most likely attempt this multiple times throughout winter vacation.

I mean… I gotta make the month of doing nothing memorable somehow!

Well, you don’t.

Trust me.

I have had a headache everyday for what seems like forever.  I’ve tried migraine medicine, I’v tried regular medicine; yoga, meditation to deal with the stress that is probably causing them; acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic work… all to no avail.  At one point they were so bad that I literally got strapped onto an IV bag full of Toradol (which if you didn’t know what that is, it’s a pain reliever just shy of a dose of Morphine) and even that didn’t do anything more than make the room spin and put an alcohol smell in my nose.  These past two days have been worse than what the headaches I ususally get have been.  I have been nauseous and just pretty much feeling like crap and I haven’t been able to make the headache go away.  I guess it’s gonna be another early night but even sleeping is hard which a hammer in your brain.

Last day of Monday classes leading to the last day of Tuesday classes, Wednesday classes, etc etc (you get the picture).

And though I’m extremely excited that this is the last week of this semester’s classes it’s kinda sad too.  All the friends I’ve made in all the classes I’ve had this semester that I probably won’t have again I won’t get to see again, or at least on a regular basis or anything.

Though to be honest I am more excited than upset over the whole situation.

So here’s to all you guys who I probably won’t see for a long while if at all again… Have a good rest of the year!

Of course I watched them all!  It’s sacrilege not to watch them this time of year!

My sister and I were talking today about how for some reason the Harry Potter movies were very Christmas appropriate, but we could exactly figure out why.  It’s not like they are the happiest of movies.  I mean the third one is practically one bad thing after another, leading to Cedric dropping dead.  Doesn’t exactly scream “MERRY CHRISTMAS!” or anything like that but for some reason when there isn’t a Rudolph or something like that one these are the next choice, for my family at least, of Christmas movies.

I know the purpose of product commercials is to sell the product and I’m sure there are some people (probably a lot of people!) but I only get really annoyed when they come on.  They all yelling at you about their product and how it would better our lives and what-not.  And though they may have a point about some of their stuff I can’t imagine that I’m in a minority saying that they are more annoying than helpful when I go out shopping.

My response…

I have no idea.  ‘Cause, honestly, Courtney and are completely opposite people.  Where I like going out and playing in the snow and getting a little rough, she would rather sit wrapped up in blankets and bubble wrap.

He told me he wanted to get her jewelry of some kind and I figured that was the easiest gift to get.  But then, he asked, what else do I get her? (Referring to the fact that he needed two).

I then explained to him that though it really wouldn’t matter what he got her since I know she is practically head-over-heels for him (…poor guy!) but he shouldn’t be asking me what to get her.  He should be able to go out shopping and see something that reminded him of her and get her that.  It would add meaning to the present rather than it just being something shiny to give her.

He grumbled then proceeded to say that I was really no help and hang up on me but I thought that was relatively good advice… a first for me really! :]

You have NO IDEA what a step this is for them, and for me.

For an entire year I have gone horseless.  I worked with horses for the year yes, but none of them were mine.  I rode a friend’s horse for the winter a few days a week, worked at my trainer’s barn as a working student and rode his horse as well as one or two of his clients horses, so I was never out of contact with them.  But it just hasn’t been the same.

Since going to school I haven’t been able to go near a horse, let alone work and be around one, but I’ve learned something for it all.  Though I still feel that NEED to be near a horse, and struggle through the weeks between rides and still mourn the loss of my Bailey, I can survive without them.  It’s neither pretty nor fun, but I can make it through.  But I think that that is the reason my parents are finally going to let me talk to them about getting another horse.

A main reason i lost my horse in the first place was because my mom and dad were concerned I wasn’t giving college the attention it deserved and they were concerned that I would blow it off just to keep the horse.  I have proven that I am dedicated to my studies and that I won’t pull out.  I have one or more job(s) waiting for me at home, which means that I am more fianancially independent and won’t need them to supply the money for the farrier bills and the vet bills, etc etc which was always a problem.  And, for now at least, I have managed to stow away my competitiveness and convinced myself that competing isn’t everything and training a new horse thoroughly and taking the time to do it the right way and cover all my basics before competing is more important, which will save me a lot of money.

Needless to say I am very excited now!  There is work to be done yet, with convincing my parents and getting work situated and colleges switched but STILL… it means there is hope for me yet.
